A recurrent concern in Wittgenstein's writings is to diagnose the origins of the philosophical temptation of solipsism. The present essay attempts to follow some of the main steps towards such a diagnosis. The essay also attempts to lay out the main steps toward a "cure" for that temptation. It does so by illustrating the philosophical method prescribed by Wittgenstein as remedy for many other "diseases of the intellect" which afflict the philosophers.
