In this paper, I develop some reasons that try to affirm the strength of a partnership with authors that belong the anthropological and sociological fields, regarding the comprehension in how “schooling social praxis” of young and adult people need analytical categories from both fields. Using two experiences from a schooling project in poor neighborhoods from the city of Porto Alegre, regarding men and women who work as urban garbage recyclers, I propose the overcoming of classificatory limitations, not only in the idealization but also in the manipulation of the knowledge produced by these workers. In the conclusion, I emphasize the importance of listening to these people in order to offer teaching-learning situations in a relational form between the people and their social environment, collaborating in the construction of analytical tools for the educators that work in these places.

Neste artigo desenvolvo argumentos que procuram afirmar a indispensável parceria com autores filiados ao campo da antropologia e sociologia, na compreensão de como “práticas sociais de escolarização” de jovens e adultos precisam de categorias de análise oriundas dessas duas áreas. Ao tomar duas experiências dentro de um projeto de escolarização na periferia de Porto Alegre, junto aos homens e mulheres recicladores do lixo urbano, proponho a superação de reducionismos classificatórios, tanto na idealização como na manipulação dos conhecimentos produzidos por esses trabalhadores. Nas conclusões, enfatizo a importância da escuta qualificada desses sujeitos, para oportunizar situações de “ensino-aprendizagem” relacionais (entre sujeitos e entorno social), bem como para a construção de ferramentas de análise aos educadores presentes nesses espaços.
