Neste trabalho sugerimos que os modelos mentais causais podem servir de interface entre a teoria de Piaget e a teoria dos modelos mentais, reforçando o argumento de outros pesquisadores de que há uma certa complementaridade entre as duas teorias ou, pelo menos, que não são incompatíveis. Utilizamos resultados de entrevistas sobre o funcionamento do giroscópio para ilustrar nosso ponto.
In this paper we suggest that causal mental models may serve as interface between Piaget's theory and mental models theory, reinforcing other researchers' argument that there is a certain complementarity between these theories or, at least, that they are not incompatible. Results from interviews regarding how the gyroscope works were used to make our point.
