Estudo Material de Manuscritos Iluminados. O Caso de Estudo do Códice CXXV/2-4 da BPE

Abstract

Neste capítulo apresenta-se como caso de estudo o estudo material do Códice CXXV/2-4, que teve como objectivo dar resposta a duas questões fundamentais:1) caracterizar os materiais e técnicas de produção das iluminuras do manuscrito; e 2) corroborar a hipótese levantada pelos historiadores da arte, segundo a qual a produção das iluminuras deste códice deverá ter sido efectuada em dois períodos distintos – Idade Média e Renascimento; ou seja, numa primeira fase deverá ter sido escrito o texto e as capitulares, tendo numa fase mais tardia sido acrescentada a cercadura com motivos vegetalistas e as armas «Sans mesoire» da família Rochefort.
