Abstract

A leitura literária, o saber-fazer patrimonial e o livro-objeto: Building Stories de Chris Ware e desenvolve-se a propósito desta obra, que parece um jogo mas é, talvez, melhor identificado se lhe chamarmos "book-in-a-box". O objeto, além de famoso no mundo de "comics" e "graphic novels", tem qualidade a vários níveis para além da mais evidente do design. Alguns desses níveis de leitura, jogo, interpretação, serão destacados para tecermos considerações, sempre propostas discutíveis como "work in progress" que se assume, sobre os efeitos dos livros-objeto no modo de ler literário, em particular para um leitor, em crescimento, de literatura. Parte esta preocupação da fragilidade que existe ainda na distinção, entre objetos culturais dedicados, no mercado de consumo, a crianças e jovens, pela qualidade. Distinção, sem a qual, qualquer livro para crianças ou jovens possa ser considerado literatura infantojuvenil mas que, obviamente para nós, requer uma abordagem própria, e científica, dos estudos literários.
