Abstract

O PRESENTE VOLUME RESULTA DA ACTIVIDADE do grupo de investigação MECRI (Música en España en la Edad Moderna: Composición, recepción e interpretación), cuja equipa apresenta um conjunto de sete estudos e o ensaio introdutório. A este conjunto associamse cinco estudos que complementam e reforçam o esforço de internacionalização. Este é antes de mais um trabalho que consolida os bons resultados no que refere ao enriquecimento de repertórios contextualizados por uma metodologia que considera as problemáticas locais, articuladas com os circuitos internacionais e que contribui para um conhecimento do quadro cultural europeu cujo significado histórico está longe de se esgotar na Península Ibérica. O tema de fundo que se retira do título é vasto, mas o livro acaba por corresponder, em grande medida, ao eixo temático que se prende com a actividade associada à música instrumental nas capitais europeias – neste caso Madrid. No que se refere aos tópicos consagrados à disseminação da música, nomeadamente copistas (Judith Ortega, pp. 147-82) e mercado (José Carlos Gosálvez, pp. 215-57), os estudos de caso circunscrevem-se à capital espanhola.
