Poesia concreta/poesia experimental: percursos, labirintos e reinvenções

Abstract

Finalmente, analisaram-se alguns poemas representativos da Poesia Concreta / Experimental / Visual de autores portugueses e brasileiros; ABSTRACT:This dissertation focuses on portuguese and brazilian Concrete / Experimental / Visual Poetry, contextualizing it in a broader movement, the Modernism. It analyzes trends and dissents, the relationship between both, as well as their close and remote origins. These led to a search for the roots of a key element in this poetry – the visuality – and to the consequent connection with painting and other arts. On the other hand, this work sought to ascertain to what extent this avant-garde movement was able to broke with tradition and gave reason to those who feared the end of lyricism, or to the criticism that doubted or even denied its poetic quality. Thus, the meaning of poetry and lyricism was evaluated, and it was concluded that it is indeed poetry, although very doubtful to be included in the lyrical genre, due to the hybrid nature that characterizes the experimental poetry. Then, a possible explanation for a certain marginalization of poetry by writers and literary theorits, and for its lack of popularity, was analyzed, especially in the portuguese case, in light of its complexity, political and cultural constraints, and reader/spectator participation requirements. Finally, some portuguese and brazilian representative poems of the Concrete / Experimental / Visual Poetry were analyzed.
