This paper presents the sampling and edition principles that underlie a digital diplomatic edition of 10th-century Latin charters, which was mainly created for corpus-linguistic use. The paper also presents the on-going process of the edition’s conversion into a language resource with lemmatization and morphological and syntactic parses and discusses theoretical and methodological issues involved in diplomatically enriched digital corpora of historical texts.
