Fuentes orales, emigración española y desarrollo socieconómico en Centroamérica

Abstract

Este trabajo pionero, realizado por académicos bajo el amparo del proceso de investigación de la Cátedra de Excelencia Santander Presdeia, vinculada al Vicerrectorado de Investigación de la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos de Madrid (España), estudia de forma exhaustiva la emigración española a Centroamérica desde el siglo XVI hasta el XXI. Se han utilizado fundamentalmente fuentes orales ante la carencia general de estudios sectoriales, descubriéndose una participación española en la etapa colonial, pero también en la contemporánea, más importante de lo que se presuponía, tanto en el número de sus protagonistas como en la calidad de la obra realizada en su contribución al desarrollo socioeconómico zonal. Además, esta obra trata la acción empresarial española reciente en Centroamérica y la cooperación al desarrollo español en la zona, de gran calidad y notable seriedad, como pone de manifiesto el alto reconocimiento que tiene.
