Abstract

A cultura ocidental dominante caracteriza-se por ser uma cultura essencialmente antropocêntrica e que se manifesta numa consciência ecológica focada no Homem, expressa na protecção da Terra, visando o seu bem-estar económico. Nesta perspectiva, a natureza representa um valor de exploração de carácter económico, estético e lúdico, numa relação dominada pelo Homem. A exploração e rentabilização da natureza são tomadas numa visão economicista já que o Homem é visto sobretudo como homo economicus.
