Abstract

ISCTE-IUL assumed a leading and pioneering role in the Open Access Movement and in the implementation of institutional repositories in Portugal. We describe our experience in this field, we tackle some of the challenges that we are presently facing and envisage some developments taking as the basis of our reflection and future action the road that we have traveled, the problems identified and de achieved successes. We suggest that the same attention that information repositories managers pay to information repositories contributors (faculty and researchers) should be paid to their end-users.
