Abstract

Algumas das produções que têm vindo a ser desenvolvidas no campo da arte, desde os finais da década de 1950, surgem como reacções às diversas representações de identidades provenientes dos meios de comunicação. Os diferentes modos de configuração artística, relativos a estas representações tecnológicas, permitem assinalar os seus sistemas de códigos e inclusivamente obter algumas das reacções contraculturais provenientes do contexto social. As conjunções de signos patentes numa obra de arte, em conjugação com as correntes linguísticas e filosóficas, permitem leituras sociológicas eficazes relativas aos sistemas de representação da identidade cultural; simultaneamente destacam a sua relação íntima com as ideologias agregadas às mercadorias.
