Abstract

O Madeira é um vinho licoroso. Bebida afamada, única produção insular exportada digna de menção, anima há séculos um comércio de longa distância. Como principal contrapartida, a ilha abasteceu-se com os alimentos básicos para sustento da sua população. Trata-se de um produto de luxo, fabricado para satisfazer uma clientela que o consome em destinos longínquos.
