Abstract

Betydning eller som oftest betydninger av språklige enheter er noe som er verdt til å se litt nærmere på. Det å forstå hva språklige enheter konvensjonelt henviser til i omverdenen er viktig når man lærer seg andre språk, men kanskje enda viktigere når man vil beherske sitt eget morsmål. Når det gjelder språk, er det klart at de er forskjellige. De høres ulikt ut, de har forskjellige ord for å betegne samme objekter, de har forskjellige måter å sette opp ord i rekkefølge på, og kulturene hvor forskjellige språk brukes er ulike. Men det er likevel noe som er felles for alle språk, nemlig det at de brukes på én og samme planet. Dette i sin tur betyr at det finnes visse aspekter ved livet som er felles for en stor del språkbrukere. For eksempel sover man vanligvis liggende, går rundt oppreist og beveger seg i forhold til forskjellige romlige omgivelser. Det er nettopp dette forholdet mellom ganske store likheter ved menneskenes kroppslige oppfatning av verden og realisering av denne oppfatninge
