La Edad de Bronce es uno de los momentos más significados de la Historia de Villena y su comarca. Durante un milenio (2200-1200 cal AC) en este territorio se sucedieron una serie de transformaciones que originaron uno de los desarrollos sociales y económicos más intensos de la Prehistoria peninsular. Uno de los elementos más característicos de este periodo fue la aparición de una inusitada cantidad de objetos de oro que, bajo diferentes formas y funciones, fueron empleados por unas incipientes élites sociales para definir y justificar unas nuevas relaciones sociales.
The Bronze Age is one of the most significant moments of the History of Villena and its region. During a millennium (2200-1200 cal BC), a series of transformations took place in this territory that gave rise to one of the most intense social and economic developments of Peninsular prehistory. One of the most characteristic elements of this period was the appearance of an unusual amount of gold objects that, under different forms and functions, were used by incipient social elites to define and justify new social relations.
