Abstract

Interaction with our environment is one of the largest sources of information and knowledge that we have to develop ourselves as people. Based on that, we will be making our way of thinking, our values, and our own singularities. And the first and main context we have is the family. They provide us the necessary situation for interaction, being our parents the main precursor. However, these situations are not neutral. As our parents provide us those situations, these are conditioned by a multitude of external influences (religion, culture…), that are those that characterize them as human being. We could think that we will be predisposed to a religion or a culture specific, depending on those that influence the situations that we experience. In most cases, these variables also structured teaching methods and educational practices that they use, which is understood as parental educational style. So, influence both our education and our socialization. The present study aims to discern if, as well as our parents influence many aspects of our lives with the situations that they provide us, also constrain the educational style that we would develop in the future with our own children.
