The present paper is part of research that addresses the understanding of the concept of numerical sequence by secondary school students. The perspective provided by the work of Piaget & Garcia related to the development of a scheme through several levels (intra, inter and trans) provides empirical evidence of how students’ use of the progressions when solving a task provides information of the development of understanding. This use allows us to deepen on the stages in the development of numerical sequence concept.

| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
