Abstract

Edetania and Contestania are two Iberian entities generically mentioned in the literary sources of the final centuries of the first millennium BC. Proposals on these data and their material culture have been made over the years to delimit their borders and approximate the respective ethnic groups. These proposals have varied according to the ideological orientation and models in vogue at any given time. Nowadays it is thought that, rather than closed societies with well-defined borders, they are volatile entities, interrelated among themselves and with their surroundings.
