Abstract

Cookware that was manufactured in the área of Carthago Nova, even though technologically at the time it was able to service the cooking needs of a given society, it has recieved little attention when it comes to Academia, since the data related to the early evidences of these ceramic productions is still very much unknown. The following essay relates to the starting concepts that will allow the typological and functional definition of a ceramic production that despite it’s simple shapes and ordinary appearence, was distributed throughout the Mediterranean Sea.

Keywords

Antigüedad Tardía, Late Antiquity, Águilas, Cookware, Carthago Nova, Cerámica de cocina, Mazarrón
