Abstract

This work is the study of Professor Inocencio Galindo Mateo on the coat of arms of the city of Villena, carried out in 2010 at the request of the Villena City Council. It deals with the heraldic configuration of the coat of arms applying the criteria of antiquity and frequency of use in the preserved specimens, both in stone and in historical documents. It is structured in two parts, a first analytical and comparative, and the second synthetic and conclusive, resulting in the definition of a complete heraldic proposal contemplating, not only heraldic orthodoxy but also the corresponding legislation for its adequate formal presentation in the competent bodies of the autonomous administration.
