Análisis del efecto del aprendizaje basado en videojuegos en la mejora de la competencia traductora

Abstract

Desde hace unos años los videojuegos han venido aplicándose en distintas áreas, entre las que destacan el aprendizaje de segundas lenguas en general y de la terminología especializada en particular (Calvo-Ferrer, 2017). De acuerdo con ello, el presente estudio pretende analizar el modo en que los videojuegos favorecen (o no) la mejora de la competencia traductora, esto es, la toma de decisiones por partes del traductor conducentes a una correcta elección de los elementos textuales en una determinada lengua de destino. Específicamente, analiza la idoneidad del videojuego Subtitle Legends como herramienta para la formación de estudiantes del Grado en Traducción e Interpretación de la Universidad de Alicante en el ámbito de la detección de errores en traducción audiovisual, frente a otras herramientas como el programa de subtitulado Subtitle Workshop. Los resultados de este estudio, que compara los resultados de un total de 28 alumnos, indican que no existen diferencias estadísticamente significativas respecto a la detección de errores en subtitulación, lo que permite inferir que el videojuego empleado puede considerarse igual de idóneo que el programa Subtitle Workshop para la mejora de la competencia traductora en general y la revisión de subtítulos en particular.
