With this paper we try to analyze how the bishops of the Spanlsh Church in the Late Roman Empire (IV-VI centuries) managed the properties in their dioceses. A very ímportant feature of this administration, in Spain and in the whole western world, was the confusion originated between the Church's properties and these that belonged to the bishop as a private person. This confusion produced some important consequences for the Church.
