The concept of landscape is inseparable from the subjective experience of the territory. It is therefore inextricably linked to those who contributed to its construction for centuries, an anonymous and silent mode. From an objective point of view, Cuelgamuros values have been described since the fourteenth century for its hunting, ethnographic, geographic or geological value, which can be recognized in numerous descriptions and place names. From the subjective, the landscape has not left anyone indifferent as shown in Ortega y Gasset, Giner de los Rios, Bernaldo de Quiros or the same fray Jose de Siguenza. As recent history has distorted Cuelgamuros place to give it a symbolic values, supported by megalomaniac architecture at the service of dictatorial power, they have marked several generations of Spaniards. The following reflections seek to remember glances Cuelgamuros Valley that were drawn before his brutal ideological contamination, in order to open the slow and necessary process of recovery of their values.
