El "Siervo libre de amor" y Petrarca : a propósito del motivo de la nave

The Siervo libre de amor offers one of the most ambiguous endings of all medieval Spanish works. Scholars do not agree on the final meaning of Sindéresis as she appears ar the end of this work guiding the pilgrim-Juan Rodríguez to safety. In this article an interpretation of Sindéresis is offered that takes into consideration the Spanish sentimental romance tradition as well as Petrarch's poetry.

El Siervo libre de amor ofrece uno de los finales más ambiguos de todas las obras medievales castellanas. La crítica no está de acuerdo sobre el significado final de Sindéresis, la dama que rescata al peregrino-Juan Rodríguez. En este artículo se ofrece una interpretación de la mima en el contexto de la novelística sentimental y de la poesía de Petrarca.
