Diseño y desarrollo de expresiones faciales para un robot móvil

Abstract

Uno de los principales objetivos de la robótica social es la inclusión de los robots en el día a día de las personas. Para conseguir este objetivo, es necesario que los robot sean percibidos como seres vivos, en lugar de máquinas. La expresividad y el realismo favorecen la interacción humano-robot consiguiendo que los humanos perciban a los robots como seres inteligentes. Esta expresividad está basada en los diferentes rasgos faciales o movimientos involuntarios de los seres vivos. El propósito de este trabajo es diseñar una cabeza y desarrollar un sistema que la dote de expresividad para un robot móvil perteneciente al laboratorio de robótica de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, con el fin, de favorecer la interacción entre robots y humanos. Este sistema debe ser compatible con el resto de la arquitectura del robot. El sistema propuesto dota al robot de una funcionalidad que le permite expresar una serie de emociones según su estado interno. Para este proceso ha sido necesario recoger el marco teórico de conducta de un robot social más cercano a nuestro trabajo y existente hoy día en la psicología social. Finalmente, tras el desarrollo del sistema, se realiza una serie de pruebas para comprobar que el diseño es adecuado y que se cumplen todos los objetivos propuestos.
