Abstract

El titanio procesado por pulvimetalurgia requiere de elevadas temperaturas de sinterización para obtener bajos niveles de porosidad, lo que conlleva un aumento en el tamaño de grano y contaminación. La introducción de fase líquida ha sido una estrategia poco explorada. En este proyecto se estudian dos composiciones de titanio con adición del 10% y del 15% en masa de níquel en las que se forma fase líquida y se estudian las condiciones de sinterización y caracterización de los materiales obtenidos. También se estudia el uso de polvo de hidruro de titanio en comparación al uso de polvo de sólo titanio y el papel que juega durante la sinterización el proceso de descomposición del hidruro, la dehidrogenización.
