Curado en sistemas epoxi. Efecto del material de relleno en la cinética de curado

Abstract

En este trabajo se ha estudiado la reacción de curado de un sistema polimérico de tipo epoxi y la influencia que en él produce la presencia de dos tipos de material de refuerzo. El sistema polimérico está formado por diglicidil éter de bisfenol-A (DGEBA) y 1,4- diaminobutano (DAB). Los materiales de refuerzo estudiados son caolín y fibra de vidrio comercial de tipo E. Se realizaron experimentos para tres casos: el sistema polimérico epoxi-amina sin presencia de refuerzo, el sistema reforzado con caolín y el sistema con fibra de vidrio como material de refuerzo. Se usaron diferentes temperaturas de curado para realizar los experimentos, en concreto a 55, 60, 65 y 70 ºC. Tras tres horas de curado a dichas temperaturas se realizó, para todos los casos, un post-curado a 150 ºC durante una hora. El seguimiento de la reacción de curado se realizó mediante espectroscopía infrarroja por transformada de Fourier (FTIR) realizándose el estudio en el rango del infrarrojo cercano (7.500-4.000 cm-1) Se examinó la desaparición de los grupos epoxi a través de la disminución de la banda centrada en 4.530 cm-1 y la desaparición de los grupos amino primarios a través de la disminución de la banda centrada en 4.942 cm-1. Se realizó un análisis cinético de la reacción de curado mediante la utilización del método isoconversional. Se siguió el avance de la reacción a partir del grado de conversión de los grupos epoxi (α) obteniéndose la energía de activación para los tres sistemas a estudio. Se estudió el efecto de los materiales de refuerzo comparando diferentes parámetros para la misma temperatura, de manera que podamos identificar claramente el efecto que produce cada refuerzo en el proceso de curado.
