Abstract

Un tesauro es algo más que un instrumento para organizar y buscar información. Es un conjunto de términos que refleja y representa el mundo en que vivimos, una sociedad que, bajo la pretendida universalidad y neutralidad del conocimiento masculino, ha negado y niega la participación de las mujeres en la historia y en la construcción social.La mayoría de tesauros y encabezamientos de materia existentes no reflejan la larga lucha de las mujeres por sus derechos, ni la existencia del feminismo. Siguen ocultándonos bajo el genérico masculino, y cuando nos nombran lo hacen con estereotipos sexistas y en el papel de inferioridad,subordinación y sumisión que nos han reservado. El punto de partida de este tesauro ha sido el de la Biblioteca de Mujeres, elaborado paulatinamente con la incorporación de su colección, a partir de su creación en 1985. Su estructura reflejaba la evolución del Movimiento Feminista en España, sus temas e intereses, los cuales han ido cambiando a lo largo de este tiempo.
