Abstract

Los teléfonos inteligentes (proveniente del anglicismo smartphones) han generado una revolución en la telefonía móvil, y más concretamente en las posibilidades que estos equipos son capaces de ofrecer al usuario. Muchas de sus virtudes son debidas al Sistema Operativo (SO) que incorporan estos terminales, entre los cuales cabe destacar el SO Android, y las funcionalidades que añade a dichos teléfonos, habilitando la transmisión de audio y vídeo bajo demanda, así como intercambiar información con un servidor remoto. Por otro lado, España se ha consolidado como uno de los destinos turísticos más importantes, logrando el tercer puesto en número de viajeros a nivel mundial, afianzando de este modo la importancia del sector en la economía del país, a la vez que se producía una diversificación de las opciones de turismo, que han dado lugar a que el turismo cultural sea el segundo tipo más solicitado por detrás del sol y la playa. De esta forma, el objetivo del presente proyecto es generar una plataforma a través de la que cualquier persona, turista o no, que visite un espacio cultural y esté en posesión de un teléfono inteligente, pueda acceder a información remota que le sea de ayuda para la comprensión del mismo, incluyendo información sobre el propio espacio que está visitando o sobre los objetos que en él se ubican. Durante el desarrollo del proyecto se ha diseñado la estructura de un sistema de estas características, y se ha implementado un prototipo para poder valorar la viabilidad del sistema. Dicho prototipo está compuesto por diferentes tecnologías entre las que destacar una aplicación web, servidor HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) y aplicación sobre el SO Android. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Smartphones have revolutionised the mobile industry by allowing end users to carry out a variety of tasks on a device beyond making calls and sending text messages. Many of these tasks are possible due to the OS running on that the devices, among which include Google’s Android OS. Features available on smart phones enable transmission of audio and video on demand, and the exchange of information with a remote server. Spain has established itself as one of the most important tourist destinations. It has been ranked as third, in number of tourists, in the world, thereby strengthening the sector’s importance to the economy. There has also been a diversification of the options available to tourists, this has resulted in cultural tourism becoming the second most requested after the sunny weather and the beach. Thus, the objective of this project is to create a platform through which anyone, tourist or not, can visit a cultural space using a smart phone. This can be done by accessing remote information is helpful to understanding what is available in a specific cultural space as well as the nearby points of interest to the user. The development of this project has included designing the structure of a system, and implementing a prototype to evaluate the feasibility of such a system.
