Estudio del mecanizado de materiales compuestos

Abstract

La idea de realizar el siguiente proyecto surge debido al gran desconocimiento que se tiene sobre el comportamiento de los materiales compuestos reforzados con fibras al ser mecanizados y al gran incremento que están teniendo hoy en día estos materiales en la industria. Hasta ahora, se cuenta con una escasa bibliografía sobre su comportamiento al ser mecanizados y no pueden ser comparados con otros materiales como los metales. Por ello, en este trabajo se tienen como objetivos validar el modelo propuesto para materiales compuestos reforzados con fibras de vidrio (GFRP) y analizar cómo se comportan los materiales compuestos reforzados con fibras de carbono (CFRP). Por último, se hace una comparación del comportamiento de estos dos tipos de materiales, para sacar conclusiones del comportamiento de un material dúctil como el vidrio y otro frágil como el carbono. Dichos estudios se llevan a cabo a través de simulaciones en ABAQUS, un programa de elementos finitos de donde se obtienen las fuerzas de corte, de avance y el daño de la matriz para ser analizadas más tarde. De todo este proyecto, se obtienen conclusiones interesantes que ayudarán a simplificar y reducir el coste de futuros ensayos y experimentos. Además, se proponen posibles trabajos futuros que ayudarían a complementar este y trabajos anteriores, siguiendo con la investigación sobre este tema.
