Seroprevalence of chicken infectious anemia virus in breeder and broiler chicken in Jeonbuk Iksan area

Abstract

Abstract From January to November in 2010, a result of chicken infectious anemia virus (CIAV) antibodies ELISA test about 500 number in 25 broiler breeder farms and 500 number in a broiler chickens slaughterhouse from 25 farms in Iksan area, Jeonbuk. The result of 100% (25/25) positive rate in broiler breeder farms group and 98.6% (493/500) positive rate from each individual. In each week-age group, 98.8% of 18∼20 weeks and 98.3% of 21∼24 weeks showed positive without any significant differences. In slaughterhouse case, broilers from the farms showed 36.0% (9/25) positive rate and each individual showed 20.4% (102/500) positive rate. Key words : CIAV, ELISA, Broiler breeder, Broiler chicken 서 론 지구온난화 영향 때문에 우리나라의 기후가 아열대성 기후로 변해가는 상황에서 지난해 여름 높은 습도와 찜통같은 더위, 열대야 현상으로 사람이나 가축들이 힘든 계절을 보내야만 했다. 이런 고온다습한 환경 때문에 가축들의 폐사가 많아졌고 특히, 체온이 높은 닭의 폐사가 전국적으로 많이 발생하였다. 이렇듯 환경적인 요인과 함께 면역억제를 일으키는 질병들이 지속적으로 발생하여 양계농가에 경제적인 손실은 갈수록 커지고 있다. 또한, 여러 가지 난계대 질병들에 대한 순환 고리를 차단하고자 많은 노력을 하고 있지만, 질병예방이 쉽지 않은 게 현실이다. 닭 전염성빈혈(chicken infectious anemia, CIA)은 Yausa 등(1979)에 의해 어린 닭에서 새로운 질병으로 처음 보고되었으며, 원인체는 Circoviridae의 Gyrovirus 로 envelope가 없으며 크기는 25∼26.5 nm이고, 바이러스의 particle에 따라 type I, II로 분류되며 chicken in-fectious anemia virus (CIAV)에 의해 발생한다(Gelder-blom 등, 1989). 이 질병은 면역 억제 때문에 2차적 다른 바이러스, 세균 및 곰팡이 등이 쉽게 감염이 이루어지고 hemorrhagic syndrome이나 aplastic anemia와 연계되어 질병의 원인체 역할을 하는 것으로 알려졌다. 또한, 2∼4주령의 닭에서 전염성빈혈 증후군을 유발하여 성장부진이 나타나고 폐사율이 10∼20%에서 60%까지도 발생할 수 있다. 6주 이상의 일령에서
