The contribution, starting from the historical reconstruction of the juridical concept of religious tourism contained in the national and regional laws, examines the current intra-ecclesial and civil perspectives concerning that phenomenon. In particular, the contribution focuses on the pastoral actions of the Italian Church, which affects the governance system of ecclesial institutions in the tourism sector, and on the interactions between civil and religious institutions that give rise to new forms of collaboration and coworking, for the promotion through religious tourism of the territories and local realities.
