Abstract

La letteratura specialistica ha messo in evidenza il ruolo che svolse la testimonianza nel cinema politico latinoamericano del 1968. Naturalmente non solo, né principalmente, nel cinema: nel corso degli anni Sessanta in America Latina la testimonianza irruppe negli ambiti letterario, giornalistico, sociologico, etnografico o politico, per quanto si possano tra loro distinguere. Nella sua importante ricerca sullo “scrittore rivoluzionario” in America Latina, Claudia Gilmann (2003, pp. 339-54) ha fatto riferimento per quegli anni alla promozione della testimonianza da parte di un ampio settore della “famiglia intellettuale latinoamericana” che si rifaceva alla Rivoluzione cubana, riconducendola sia all’impatto provocato dalla Biografía de un cimarrón di Miguel Barnet (1966) – che raccoglieva la testimonianza dell’ex schiavo ribelle cubano Esteban Montejo – sia alla legittimazione conferita nel 1970 a tutta una letteratura precedente dall’introduzione del “genere testimonianza” nel Premio Casa de las Américas. Gilman ha evidenziato come la testimonianza, la poesia, la canzone di protesta ed essenzialmente il cinema politico emersero come alternative al romanzo (o almeno al “romanzo laboratorio” o “nouveau roman”), nel quadro di un’enfasi della politicizzazione della cultura, della pedagogia, delle funzioni comunicativa e propagandistica dell’arte...
