Verona Park Lake lies on the Peckman River in a park in Essex County. The lake drains a fairly small watershed, but is very small itself. The watershed land use is primarily residential/commercial, but the headwaters of the Peckman River are located in a forested preserve. The lake was originally a mill pond, and became part of the park upon its establishment. It has been used for fishing, boating and skating, but is experiencing diminished utility due to environmental degradation. This study was conducted to further characterize the lake and the causes for its condition.
