L'Eglise orientale utilise trois anaphores dans sa liturgie eucharistique, celle d'Addai et Mari, de Theodore et de Nestorius. Cette derniere est la plus longue. On l'utilise seulement a cinq occasions pendant l'annee: l'epiphanie, le vendredi de Jean le Baptiste, le memorial des docteurs grecs, le mercredi de la rogation des Ninevites et le jeudi saint.
