Escamosos (Reptilia) fosiles del yacimiento de Moreda (Plioceno medio/superior, Granada, España)

Abstract

Los restos fósiles procedentes del yacimiento de Moreda (Plioceno medio/superior, Granada, España), estu­diados y descritos en el presente trabajo incluyen los siguientes taxones de escamosos: Varanus sp. (Varanidae), cf. Eryx (Boidae: Erycinae) y Naja sp. (Elapidae). En cada caso, se ha realizado una descripción detallada de los diferentes elementos óseos, con comentarios acerca de las similitudes morfológicas existentes entre los mismos y sus equivalentes en formas actuales. Por último, se discuten las principales consideraciones de tipo paleoecológico y paleogeográfico que pueden inferirse a partir de los restos óseos hallados.
