Abstract

Le cinéaste Glauber Rocha est l’auteur de l’une des oeuvres cinématographiques les plus importantes, les plus expérimentales et les plus polémiques du cinéma brésilien. En 1975, après six ans d’exil en Europe, il réalise en Italie le film Claro. Dans ce film, la fiction se confond avec le documentaire autobiographique. Un aspect particulier distingue le film Claro des autres films du réalisateur : la nostalgie de l’exil. Dans Claro, la nostalgie, matérialisée dans l’interaction de l’image et du son, permet de réinventer le politique. Le Brésil y est d’abord l’objet d’un souvenir nostalgique, puis d’une mémoire mélancolique, comme si la distance constituait une perte irréparable et irréversible, propre à l’exil.
