Abstract

Theodicy and Deism Answers from the Qur’anrnIn the study, it is consistently and continuously emphasized that Allah is the Creator of the universe. It is highlighted that Allah is the sole Creator of the universe and that all existence should be attributed to Him. By understanding Allah’s intervention in the universe through different events, it is questioned whether Allah’s intervention in the universe is uniform and whether He interacts with the universe in different ways and for different purposes. It is noted that the verses related to why the universe is structured in this way are considered tools to reveal Allah’s purpose. The position of humans in the universe is attempted to be understood within the framework of their search for meaning. It is stated that the search for meaning in the universe finds itself in the search for meaning of humans and is related to the thesis that humans were not sent to the universe aimlessly and absurdly. The assumption that the universe is oriented towards a purpose is the reason behind the planning of the universe. Without understanding the planning and orderliness in the universe, it is impossible to comprehend that it is oriented towards a purpose. It is stated in the study that the universe is a product of planning and that the responsibility of this plan needs to be explained. This planning and the assumption of natural disasters and evil in the universe are subjected to a new interpretation within the framework of Quranic verses, and efforts are made to understand them. It is stated that the verses of the Quran, which can be considered as calamities, are gathered around a common denominator and tried to be interpreted. It is strongly expressed in the study that those who do not have a correct perception of the universe form the background of a correct perception of Allah; it is stated that a correct perception of Allah can be constructed with a correct perception of revelation and that a correct interpretation of revelation can only be tested with a correct perception of the universe.rnKeywords: Allah’s Intervention in the Universe; Perception of Allah; Purpose of the Universe; Teodise; Deism
