During November 2000 an oil press weight was discovered near Khirbat Hermas (map ref. NIG 1804/6449; OIG 1304/1449), alongside the Rehovot–Yavne road, while cleaning the area prior to development work. The stone was documented by C. Eliaz, on behalf of the Antiquities Authority. The cylindrical-shaped weight (diam. 1 m, height 1.3 m) was hewn out of hard limestone. It was not found in situ, but probably belonged to an oil press in the vicinity, possibly at Kh. Hermas.
