
In late October and early November 2014, a salvage excavation was conducted at Ramat Bet Shemesh (Permit No. A-7244; map ref. 198042-209/623053-185; Fig. 1), prior to construction of the D1 neighborhood. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and financed by the Ministry of Construction and Housing, was directed by A. Nagar (photography), with the assistance of E. Bachar (administration), M. Kahan (surveying and drafting), Y. Barshak (archive photographs) and Y. Polikov(plans).
