Metacomprensión y Habilidades Lectoras en Estudiantes de Básica Elemental

Abstract

Este capítulo analiza la importancia de la metacomprensión como una herramienta clave para fortalecer las habilidades lectoras en estudiantes de básica elemental. En un contexto donde muchos estudiantes enfrentan serias dificultades para comprender textos, se destaca la necesidad urgente de promover estrategias pedagógicas que desarrollen una lectura crítica, autónoma y reflexiva. La metacomprensión, entendida como la capacidad de monitorear y regular el propio proceso lector, permite a los estudiantes identificar dificultades, aplicar estrategias correctivas y mejorar su comprensión. Se presenta un marco teórico sobre la metacomprensión, sus vínculos con la metacognición y su impacto en la comprensión lectora. Además, se describen estrategias efectivas como el uso de preguntas reflexivas, la autoevaluación, la enseñanza explícita de técnicas de lectura, herramientas visuales, debates y recursos digitales. La evidencia empírica revisada demuestra que estas prácticas mejoran el rendimiento lector, la autonomía y la capacidad de aplicar el conocimiento en diversas áreas. Se concluye que la integración de la metacomprensión en la enseñanza es esencial para formar lectores críticos y ciudadanos reflexivos.
