Con estas notas introductorias sobre la transición de la Provincia franciscana de Cartagena en la década 1960-1970, pretendemos establecer el marco general cronológico de la llamada “transición del franciscanismo murciano”, que se produce al compás de la renovación eclesial impulsada por el Concilio Vaticano II (1962-1965) y del Capítulo General de Asís (1967). Constantino Kóser, Ministro General de la Orden, y Pedro de Fátima Martínez, Ministro Provincial de Cartagena, son los que lleven a cabo “la difícil adaptación de la Orden y de la Provincia de Cartagena” a la nueva mentalidad del Concilio Vaticano II.
