ABSTRACT: A solar collector fixed flat plate is modeled, under typical physical and meteorological conditions Ecuadorian highlands, in the Riobamba city, which geographic position of 1 58`58 `` S latitude and 78 ° 39`33 `` W longitude, and 2750 m relative to sea level, in the Inter alley Ecuadorian mountains, the designed solar collector is based on heat transfer equation and the energy balance, to simulate the behavior of the air inside is done collector, the theoretical calculation of the efficiency of the solar collector is run through a program developed in Matlab 2010, the results are verified with prototype built for this purpose, in which is located sensors for control the air temperature, humidity and airspeed. Keywords: Solar collector, mathematical model, flat badges, solar energy, Ecuadorian Highland
