Abstract

Este trabalho aborda a relação entre o corpo e o psiquismo, considerando possíveis destinos pulsionais provenientes dessa interação. Parte de uma revisão histórica sobre a compreensão do corpo, que foi concebido de diversas maneiras ao longo da existência humana, até assumir, especialmente pela teoria psicanalítica, uma visão mais subjetiva, ligada ao erógeno e ao sexual. O texto explora, ainda, a questão do corpo na teoria freudiana e para outros autores posteriores a Freud e contemporâneos. Conclui que o ser humano é psicossomático por excelência, uma vez que todas as possibilidades de relação do homem com o mundo são mediadas pela presença do próprio corpo. Essa condição independe do tipo de estruturação psíquica de cada sujeito e marca que não há dissociação ou divisão entre o psíquico e o somático, mas um sujeito psicossomático.
