Tecnología de cazadores en la Puna Meridional Argentina: El caso de Peñas de la Cruz 1

Abstract

Se presentan los resultados y las implicancias surgidas de las investigaciones desarrolladas enel sitio Peñas de la Cruz 1, situado en las cercanías de la localidad de Antofagasta de la Sierra, provincia de Catamarca, en la Puna meridional argentina. En base a las evidencias recuperadas, se aborda principalmente la esfera de la tecnología de caza asociada a las ocupaciones humanas de este sitio, las cuales fueron ubicadas en el inicio del Holoceno Medio, entre ca. 7.900 y 7.200 años AP. Las condiciones climáticas de gran sequedad propias de este ambiente jugaron un papel fundamental en la preservación de los restos orgánicos, recuperados en excelente estado de integridad, tales como intermediarios de cañas, cordeles, cueros, restos óseos, camadas de gramíneas y tecnofacturas en general.
