Elementary school teachers have access to a new problem each month, along with suggested instructional notes. Teachers are asked to use the problem in their own classrooms and report solutions, strategies, reflections, and misconceptions to the journal audience. This month's problem motivates wondering and investigation with a simple question: Have you ever chewed gum? The questions on the activity sheet prompt students to explore the history of chewing gum, brands, and popular flavors.
