Although your present speaker is not directly engaged in the problems of curriculum, he bas a very strong belief in the importance of mathematics and exact sciences in modern education. In passing, he merely wishes to note that we are living in a modern world requiring exactness, precision, split-second decisions, balance sheets that balance, and bridges that do not collapse. All of these considerations are related in practical ways to present-day education.
