Abstract

Few deny that the mathcmatirs curriculum of the elementary school needed revision. However, the rush to modernize this curriculum has given rise to some rather questionable practices. Experimental programs claim that the changes to be made should result in good, teachable mathematics. One could hardly argue with this objective.
