Enzootic bovine leukosis and the risk to human health

Abstract

Le virus de la leucémie bovine (BLV) a été signalé pour la première fois comme un lymphosarcome bovin enzootique en Europe de l'Est à la fin du 19 e siècle, mis en évidence par la présence de nodules légèrement jaunes dans la rate élargie des bovins. Il était considéré comme une maladie infectieuse car il se propageait dans les troupeaux. Avec les changements observés dans la sensibilité des techniques de diagnostic, l'opinion selon laquelle « le BLV n'infecte pas les humains » commence à changer après plus de deux décennies. Plusieurs recherches ont tenté de lier le BLV et la santé humaine dans certaines études dans lesquelles le BLV et le cancer du sein humain ont été montrés. Des études sur les voies possibles d'infection et pour expliquer les processus de transformation génétique chez les humains sont soulevées. De multiples rapports sur cette maladie qui la lient à la santé humaine ont conclu à la nécessité d'un nouvel état d'esprit pour comprendre la relation entre le BLV et la santé humaine afin d'améliorer la prévention, le contrôle et l'éradication des troupeaux de bovins.

El virus de la leucemia bovina (BLV) se informó por primera vez como linfosarcoma bovino enzoótico en Europa del Este a finales del siglo XIX, destacado por la presencia de nódulos ligeramente amarillos en el bazo agrandado del ganado. Se creía que era una enfermedad infecciosa porque se propagaba a través de los rebaños. Con los cambios observados en la sensibilidad de las técnicas de diagnóstico, la opinión de que "el BLV no infecta a los humanos" comienza a cambiar después de más de dos décadas. Varias investigaciones intentaron vincular el BLV y la salud humana en algunos estudios en los que se ha demostrado el BLV y el cáncer de mama humano. Se plantean estudios sobre las posibles rutas de infección y para explicar los procesos de transformación genética en los humanos. Múltiples informes sobre esta enfermedad que lo vinculan a la salud humana concluyeron en la necesidad de una nueva mentalidad para comprender la relación entre el BLV y la salud humana para mejorar la prevención, el control y la erradicación de los rebaños de ganado.

The bovine leukemia virus (BLV) was first reported as enzootic bovine lymphosarcoma in Eastern Europe in the late 19 th century, highlighted by the presence of slightly yellow nodules in the enlarged spleen of cattle.It was believed to be an infectious disease because it spreaded through the herds.With changes observed in sensitivity of diagnostic techniques, the opinion that "BLV does not infect humans" starts to change after more than two decades.Several researches tried to link the BLV and human health in some studies in which BLV and human breast cancer have been shown.Studies about the possible routes of infection and to explain the genetic transformation processes in humans are raised.Multiple reports on this disease that link it to human health concluded on the need for a new mind set to understand relation between BLV and human health so as to improve the prevention, control and eradication of cattle herds.

تم الإبلاغ عن فيروس ابيضاض الدم البقري (BLV) لأول مرة على أنه ساركوما لمفاوية بقرية إنزوتية في أوروبا الشرقية في أواخر القرن التاسع عشر، وتم تسليط الضوء عليه من خلال وجود عقيدات صفراء قليلاً في طحال الماشية الموسع. كان يُعتقد أنه مرض معدي لأنه انتشر عبر القطعان. مع التغييرات التي لوحظت في حساسية تقنيات التشخيص، فإن الرأي القائل بأن "BLV لا يصيب البشر" يبدأ في التغير بعد أكثر من عقدين من الزمن. حاولت العديد من الأبحاث ربط BLV وصحة الإنسان في بعض الدراسات التي تم فيها عرض BLV وسرطان الثدي البشري. دراسات حول الطرق المحتملة للعدوى وشرح عمليات التحول الجيني في البشر. خلصت تقارير متعددة حول هذا المرض الذي يربطه بصحة الإنسان إلى الحاجة إلى عقل جديد لفهم العلاقة بين BLV وصحة الإنسان وذلك لتحسين الوقاية والسيطرة والقضاء على قطعان الماشية.
