Abstract

The book titled Language: Issues in Contemporary Research contains 10 selected articles discussing contemporary research issues from diverse perspectives in the Malay language and linguistics discipline, such as language education, publishing, phonetics and phonology, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, discourse analysis and translation. Linguistic versatility has become a central topic in every discussion involving contemporary issues in the Malay language. Therefore, this book is published to share research findings with readers so that they can collectively comprehend and be concerned about contemporary Malay language issues. All the selected articles presented in this book are research papers whose arguments are compiled scientifically and empirically, in line with the requirements and demands of the latest linguistic research worldwide. This book is suitable as a reference and can be beneficially utilized by language researchers, students and the general public to gain a realistic overview of the natural language usage by users. The publication of this book is also hoped to serve as a catalyst for young authors who are knowledgeable and concerned about contemporary Malay language issues, encouraging them to share research findings in the field of language and linguistics and to contribute to the value of research in this discipline.
